Darts guide: following the PDC in the UK and the US
Total sportek darts is a small but loyal search. Darts has become one of the UK's biggest TV sports, and this hub covers how to follow it on both sides of the Atlantic.
Where darts is shown
In the UK, PDC darts is a Sky Sports staple, headlined by the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace across Christmas and the New Year, the Premier League Darts season, and the World Matchplay. ITV carries a share of PDC events free to air. In the US, coverage runs through streaming partners and the PDC's own service, PDCTV.
The PDC publishes its calendar season by season, and event dates move between years, so treat the official PDC site as the source for exact dates rather than any copied list, including ours.
Why darts grew so fast
Short matches, walk-on music, crowds in fancy dress and a world championship that owns the Christmas TV schedule turned darts into an arena sport. The Premier League format, weekly nights in big arenas across the UK, Ireland and Europe, made it a regular Thursday night habit for millions.
It is also one of the easiest sports to follow casually: one board, two players, and a leg rarely lasts more than a few minutes.
Darts nights and football nights
Premier League Darts runs on Thursday nights through the football season, which makes it a natural second screen sport. Our live scores keep the football covered while the darts is on.
