Privacy policy
This page explains what data is handled when you visit SoccerStreams and, above all, what data is not handled. The general rule is simple: this is a reading guide, not a social network or a shop. There are no user accounts, and we do not ask you for data to read the schedule.
We collect no registration data
There is no sign-up form, no private area and no comment system with accounts. To see today's matches you do not need to give your name, your email or your phone number. The guide works the same for everyone, without identifying yourself.
The only personal data that can reach us is what you choose to send if you write to our contact address or use the form on the contact page: your email address and the content of your message. We use it only to read your query and reply to it. We do not add it to any mailing list and we do not use it for advertising.
Technical server logs
As on almost every website, the service that hosts and delivers our pages generates technical logs of each visit. Those logs can include the IP address, the browser type, the operating system, the page visited and the date and time of the visit.
We use that information in aggregate to know how many visits each section receives, to detect loading errors and to protect the site against attacks or abusive use. We do not use it to identify you personally or to build profiles, and we do not pass it to third parties unless a legal obligation requires it.
It is worth knowing that these logs are generated by practically every site on the internet, including search engines and social networks, and that how long they are kept depends on the hosting provider's settings. In our case they are used for technical and statistical purposes, and they are not combined with any other database to work out who you are.
Cookies
This website uses technical cookies, the ones needed for the service to work normally and to apply basic presentation settings. It does not currently set analytics or advertising cookies of its own, and we do not sell information about your visits. If that changes in the future, this page will be updated first and will explain what is used and how to opt out.
One detail helps to understand this: adjusting kick-off times to your time zone happens inside your own browser. The page reads the time set on your device and converts the match times at that moment, without sending that information to any server.
Audience measurement
At the moment this guide does not run a third party audience measurement tool such as Google Analytics. We may add one in the future so we can see how many visits the guide receives, which pages are read most and which countries the audience comes from. If we do, the information we receive will be statistical and aggregated, used to improve the guide and never to identify any individual, and this policy will be updated to name the tool and explain how to opt out, for example by blocking cookies in your browser or using the opt-out add-on the provider offers. The guide will keep working in exactly the same way either way.
Third party advertising
The guide may show advertising served by third party networks in the future to cover its costs. If that happens, those networks may use their own cookies or similar technologies to count the adverts shown and, depending on their own settings, to show advertising adjusted to the interests they infer from your browsing across different sites.
Those cookies would not be ours and would be governed by each advertising network's own policies. You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time, and you can also use the opt-out options the networks themselves offer. In the UK and Europe, the youronlinechoices site brings together opt-out mechanisms for many of them. Blocking cookies would not stop you using this guide: the schedule will keep working exactly the same.
Sports data is not personal data
The information we publish, matches, kick-off times, stadiums, competitions and channels, is public sports programming information from TheSportsDB and ESPN's public data. We do not publish personal data about players or any other person, beyond the names of teams and competitions, which are public facts of the sporting world.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you several rights over your personal data. In the UK these come from the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and similar rights exist under European law and under several US state laws. The right of access, to know what data of yours we hold. The right to rectification, to correct inaccurate data. The right to erasure, to ask for it to be deleted. The rights to object and to restrict processing, to oppose a use or ask for it to stop. And the right to data portability, to receive your data in a reusable format.
Because we handle so little data, the usual position is that we hold nothing of yours: if you have never written to us, there will be no data about you in our systems, beyond the technical, aggregated server logs explained above, which do not identify you on this site.
How to exercise your rights
For any privacy request, write to [email protected] with the word Privacy in the subject line and the right you want to exercise. We will reply within one month at the latest. If you believe your request has not been handled well, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or to the data protection authority or state regulator where you live.
Links to third party sites
Some pages of the guide mention or link to third party sites, such as the official broadcast platforms or the data sources. When you follow one of those links you leave soccerstreams.fun and the privacy policies of the destination site start to apply, and they can be very different from this one, especially if that site asks you to register. We recommend reading them before creating an account or taking out a service on any platform.
Retention and security
Emails we receive are kept only for as long as needed to resolve the query and are then deleted. We apply reasonable security measures to access to the mailbox and to the system that generates the site, and all traffic between your browser and the site travels encrypted through HTTPS, as you can check from the padlock in your browser.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site works changes, for example if a newsletter or a new type of advertising is added, we will update this page to reflect it and adjust the updated date. We recommend checking this policy from time to time if you visit us often.
